Right now I should be 7 weeks 4 days pregnant and went for an ultrasound two days ago where they detected an embryonic sack that was about the right size (7 weeks 4 day), and an embryo that was only 6 weeks and 5 days size. I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Heartbeat at 7 weeks: I had a question regarding the fetal heartbeat at 7 weeks. Either way, luteal phase spotting can either be a neutral sign (in the case of mid-luteal phase spotting) or a negative sign (in the case of late luteal phase progesterone dropping), but it doesn't have anything to do with implantation, and is not a positive sign of being pregnant. If b), and you're actually pregnant, your levels can drop briefly before the embryo starts producing enough HCG to tell the corpus luteum to ramp the levels up. Progesterone levels dropping in the luteal phase can be caused by a) increased estrogen in the mid-luteal-phase estrogen surge, which briefly depresses estrogen production, or b) a decrease in progesterone when the corpus luteum runs out of gas at the end of the luteal phase. You bleed when progesterone levels in your body drop, which is why you can induce a period by stopping birth control pills (which contain progesterone) or by taking and then stopping progesterone suppositories or Provera (which are also progesterone). It isn't - the embryo is only about 0.2mm in diameter at that point, and won't displace significant blood (or cause pain) when it implants. The phrase "Implantation" Bleeding is popular on conception forums but is a bit of a misnomer that causes some people to think that the bleeding is due to the embryo implanting. Then from there it might not meet the sperm (which survives for like 5 days) for another day, then if it also implants late your calculations can be pretty off, in my case 5-6 days.Ĭongratulations on your pregnancy, I hope you have a happy healthy baby at the end of it :) I know waiting for info is the absolute worst. The smiley face that tells you you’re ovulating is when the test detects a spike in LH, which can happen up to 2 days before the egg is actually released. The one I used measured both estrogen and LH. I think it’s also worth noting that depending on the ovulation test, the “positive” result could’ve been a couple days before the egg was released. My little nugget is center-stage so they got really good view.Īs others have mentioned what really matters is your implantation date, which is harder to calculate. Also if baby is tucked up in a hard-to-see spot they may have just been unable to see clearly enough to measure the heartbeat. If the length they measured was 6w or less then it wouldn’t be unusual to not see the heartbeat yet. Doctor wasn’t concerned at all because the heartrate matched where the baby was developmentally size-wise. I was super skeptical of the dates because it would mean we had our positive pregnancy test at 2w4d, which seemed insanely early. Heartbeat was 124 bpm, which is right on track for a 6w5d baby. The ultrasound tech took two measurements at different angles and baby measured at 6w5d and 6w6d respectively. My appointment was at 7w4d by my calculations. I am 1000% sure I have my LMP date and ovulation date correct. I tracked my fertility meticulously and used the clear blue digital advanced ovulation tests. My HCG results last week went from 56,000 to 73,000 in 2 days and my doctor was over the moon I was confused as to why it didn’t double and that’s why she explained to me that it doesn’t when it’s that high.I had a very similar experience with my first appointment. My doctor ensured me it would not double but more than increase significantly. I had more HCG blood test done and awaiting on that test to come back to see if my numbers have increased significantly 2 days after my 127,000 result. I can’t expect to have a number that’s 73,000 on a Monday and then the Wednesday it goes up to 146,000. This is why I ain’t too concerned about the doubling numbers. When you get to around the 8-10 week mark they reach a peak and then get lower. My numbers are on the higher end of the scale and soon they’ll start to level out and won’t double at all. This is what the doctor and ultrasound tech told me plus a simple google research. & numbers are supposed to double at the beginning when they get to a certain point (over 6000) it takes more to double and past a certain point it can take more than 5 days to double.
